Join the Fibroid Institute in Houston, Texas as we honor Uterine Fibroid Awareness Month by lighting Houston City Hall in teal on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Teal represents hope, awareness, and support for the millions of women living with fibroids. By illuminating one of Houston’s most iconic landmarks, we’re shining a light on education, early diagnosis, and access to fibroid treatment.

What Are Fibroids?
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that affect up to 70–80% of women, with Black and Hispanic women experiencing a disproportionate burden. While many fibroids are symptom-free, about 1 in 4 women will experience painful and sometimes debilitating symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, frequent urination, constipation, back pain, infertility, and pregnancy complications.
Whether you’ve experienced uterine fibroids, know someone who has, or simply want to help raise awareness, please join us. Together, we can let more women know they don’t have to suffer in silence.
