Dr. Suzanne Slonim knows firsthand what it’s like to struggle with heavy periods and painful menstrual cramps. She doesn’t believe the uterus is disposable, even for women who don’t foresee a future pregnancy. That’s why she has made it her life’s mission to help women who suffer from uterine fibroids improve and eliminate their symptoms—all without major surgery. Dr. Slonim treats every patient as if she is her own sister and is honored that women are willing to entrust her with their care.

Dr. Slonim is a recognized interventional radiologist and leading fibroids expert in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. As one of the most experienced UFE specialists in North Texas, Dr. Slonim has:

  • Trained numerous doctors in her technique
  • Presented at more than 28 national medical association meetings
  • Authored over 23 peer-reviewed publications

She has consistently received the Texas Super Doctor award in Texas Monthly and voted D Magazine’s Best Doctor in Dallas in her category. She is a Dallas Business Journal Woman in Business award honoree. She also is a sought-after speaker and author of the 2018 book, Pain-Free Periods — Banish Menstrual Misery, Fight Fibroids, and Get Your Life Back.

Dr. Slonim is board certified in radiology as well as vascular and interventional radiology. She received her education and training from several prestigious universities, including George Washington University School of Medicine, UCLA, and Stanford University.

She completed her residency training in diagnostic radiology at The Lahey Clinic in Boston, then went on to become fellowship trained in interventional radiology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Slonim remained on staff at Stanford for five years. While there, she published many scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented research findings at national meetings, and trained residents and fellows in interventional radiology.

In 2000, Dr. Slonim moved to Dallas. She was honored with fellowship in the Society of Interventional Radiology in 2012 and fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 2013.

Before founding Fibroid Institute, Dr. Slonim was the first woman to serve as medical staff president at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. She was also a partner and president of Radiology Consultants Association. She has become a leader in the field of interventional radiology, specializing in treating uterine fibroids.
